There are quite a few factors to finding the best possible office space. Working from home can be great until you start to get a little stir crazy. Finding some space outside of the home can be a very rewarding venture to help increase productivity while working. Here are some things to keep an eye out for:
How long are the renters demanding that you occupy the space. Sometimes a company will lease an office space for 6 months and even up to 2 years. This can be an important thing to consider because if your work situation ever changes, this would become a financial liability for you.
Prefurnished or Furnish Your Own?
Some offices, especially coworking offices, offer prefurnished office space. This means that everything is already done for you. There are desks, chairs, coffee makers, everything. This can be great but you also wont be able to have a say in the styling of the office. Thus, it will be hard to make it feel like it’s 100% yours…Well, mostly because it isn’t! When you choose to furnish an office on your own, you’ll have to deal with the upfront cost of decorating and furnishing your office space.
Community and Events:
How important is it to you that the office hosts events and social gatherings? Some spaces are very intentional about getting their tenants together for social gatherings while others put absolutely no effort into the this. It’s important to sort out your priorities before getting too invested in a certain space. Is it important to your work that you meet new people and network well in the community? If not, then a space without a community life will suite your needs well!
